The main goal of the features of MyUniPortal is to combine information from different sources such as html, video media, search engines into an interface that allows the data to be placed into separate windows specific for that data (Browser, Video Viewer, Query Viewer) or custom windows that combine the data as to view it in a single glance rather than switching between windows and tabs. Data in custom windows can be popped out to be viewed in separate windows with viewers specifically for that type of data.

MyUniPortal is an advanced form Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). It is not just an Rich Internet Application (RIA) or a simple Web Service. It is a Advanced form of Model Driven Architecture (MDA). It is architected to be the fastest system in the world and takes advantage of your multi-threaded and perhaps mutli-core PC to deliver the best learning environment in the world. The data source, type, destination in client (viewer or custom window) and available role based services are all stored in a central database so that no data is stored on the client PC. That way the same view of information and the available services can be accessed from any location.

Tests in MyUniPortal provide a means to validate the knowledge of the student. Tests can be run in a separate testing viewer or inside a custom window with the appropriate information as learning videos, maps or search results specific to test topic.

MyUniPortal uses proprietary sub-nanosecond cache system which means you never wait for data from the system.

Extra effort was expended to make sure the portal can connect and recover from server side resets from maintenance cycles.
